2015 Fall Conference

Mark your calendars and save the dates for the OASPA-OAEE Fall conference on Thursday and Friday, September 17th and 18th. The two-day conference will commence with the keynote speaker, Mark Anthony Garrett. As a former special needs child, Mark Anthony Garrett's life was inspired and transformed by a wonderful teacher who refused to let him fail and fall through the cracks. In fact, he credits her with saving his life.
Mark Anthony Garrett is one of the most compelling motivational and self-development speakers of our time. He has inspired audiences throughout the world with his electrifying high-energy speeches, seminars, trainings and life-coaching sessions. A successful businessman and leader, Mark is an international radio talk show host, educational consultant and author of Teachers are Heroes and S.E.R.V.I.C.E. is Everything!!!
David Braswell from Upslope, Inc. will present a session on Investigations and Employee Discipline. The first day will conclude with a legal update from Ennis Britton.
The second day will feature Tom Ash from BASA providing us with a legal update. There will also be an OMRC session in partnership with Battelle for Kids, breakouts in HR 101 and Bureau of Workers’ Compensation and an update from ODE.
OAEE will offer The NACE on-Site Career Coaching Intensive (CCI) Training. The 12 hours of instruction, discussion and exercise will be provided over the two consecutive days. CCI is designed for career services professionals at all career levels. The competencies that will be addressed in the training will cover Career Coaching and Advising and Counseling Competencies. Individual participants will earn 12 NBCC Continuing Education Credit Hours.
